 Li'l Jay-Key on Sale - see below

Based on our article in the May 2006 CQ Magazine entitled "Look
Ma, No High Voltage" this design uses a vacuum tube from the
1960's that operates on 12 volts on
both the plate and the filaments.
The tube is included in our kit. Construction is very simple using the
16 page assembly manual. A 40 meter prewound coil is furnished,
along with another coil form to allow the buyer to experiment with
other frequencies. A crystal holder (HC-67) is provided. Since
crystals for this type socket are not easily found, a new solder in qrp
crystal on 7.04 or 7.03 is now provided in the kit. Output of the
prototype oscillator was in the 40 to 60 MW range. The author wrote
a newsletter article describing a 12K5 amplifier that brought the
power up to 400 plus MW. The article is included in the manual

Qrp CW TX Low Voltage Tube Kit as seen in CQ Magazine - The "look
Ma" Kit
This Ohio USA Manufactured Kit  includes an oak "chassis", two
tubes, and all parts and wiring needed to assemble this kit. Very
well illustrated manual. Supply any 12 volt DC at 1 ampere or more
power supply, then connect your favorite crystal set, regenerative
receiver, Walkman, or any headphone device in and hear the output
through a low impedance (4 or 8 ohm) speaker .The sound output is
soft (quiet room level) mellow, and illustrates the magic of vacuum
tube amplification. The amplifier now includes a volume control and
knob with hook up instructions. All resistors are now color
identified for your building convenience. You provide common
interconnecting cables and 8 ohm speaker and 12 volt power
supply.  With tubes tested and warranted. .
PRICE $42.00

Features that make assembly easy include an oak 'saddle' already glued
in place on the oak base. The necessary holes for the dowels are drilled.
The wire connectors are already soldered to the copper contact boards.
The lugs are fasted to the other end of the connecting wires. The pilot
holes for the terminal screws are drilled.  This is a simple project that
results in a useful key for beginners as a first key to encourage Morse
code understanding.

New straight key for cw (code) transmitting. We have named
this key the "Click-Key II". It uses a micro switch for the
contacts. Micro switch contact life runs anywhere from
100,000 to 1,000,000 closures. Thats a lot of cw! The use of
micro switches is not new to cw keys, but some of the other
features of this switch make it worthwhile to the beginner or to
the expert/collector. Might make a great presentation gift for
your club. Includes a solid oak base, oak saddle for the switch
housing, and a clever mix of household items that truly make
this a conversation piece. Use it next SKN. This is a kit, and
will go together easily. There is a couple solder joints, some
screws and spacers to install and adjust, and, of course the
knob assembly itself.
