Entry for July 15, 2007

Yesterday, Saturday July 14, we showed our products at the NOARSFEST hamfest in Wellington Ohio. We enjoyed this hamfest very much! Tom Porter, W8KYZ and the whole crew were kind courteous and very helpful. The day was beautiful in Lorain County Ohio. There were plenty of in and outside vendors, and lots of visitors. This show is an annual event, and I highly recommend it! We introduced the new audio amplifier as pictured. Instead of a tape recorder, we plugged the "mini-woofen" into a walkman, set the walkman volume at a low headphone level, then removed the headphone and plugged in the 12 volt tube amplifier.  The resulting volume was very audible even with the surrounding hamfest building noises.

The selling price of the mini woofen amplifier is $37.00 plus taxes (Ohio residences). This includes the tubes. The 12K5 and 12U7 tubes are old stock and guaranteed. We have a considerable stock of these tubes here. You supply the speaker.

The amplifier runs on your 12VDC power supply. Actual measured draw is less than 0.7 amp at 13.6 nominal volts. The kit requires soldering skills,  some assembly skills, and you need to know how to work from a schematic.  In case of dificulty, just email us.

This amplifier will be demonstrated at Van Wert Ohio Hamfest this coming Sunday July 22. At the Van Wert Fairgrounds. This town is located in NW Ohio and this show has long been one of our favorites. Hope to see you there! Gates open to public at 8:00 AM. Talk-In on 146.250/8.50 . Please see your ARRL Database to confirm this schedule!
